Rocket Frog:  Litoria nasuta

  • A medium-sized, extremely streamlined frog, with proportionally long legs, and an angular head. It is usually coloured a light brown, with various darker brown raised stripes and spots on it's back.

Call:

  • The call is a series of scratchy, stacato? notes that begin rather tentatively, as if if the frog is unsure as to call, then continue quite loudly.

Size:

  • The average adult length of the Rocketfrog is 50 millimetres.

Distribution:

  • Found throughout the top end and along the east coast down to Sydney.

Interest:

  • This frog is 'rocket not just because of its shape. They can jump far and fast; just try catching one.
